After a 3 month hiatus, the phone has started ringing again and people have been emailing us directly and on LinkedIn to put feelers out about new opportunities. Then today, one of our beautiful luxury womenswear brands called up with news of green shoots, which is exciting to hear! They’ve been house cleaning and deep diving into whats working and where there is room for improvement we’ll be putting feelers out for a Finance Manager with a proven track record in fashion wholesale and ecommerce to join the team part-time 1-2 days a week to start with, working from home.
I’ve had lots of chats with candidates from Debenhams and other companies, whose roles have recently been made redundant as businesses either tip into administration or consolidate. My hope is, that as the industry starts to reawaken, we will see a gradual reordering and a real opportunity for the rising wave of small independent brands to establish themselves. Many are built on admirable foundations that truly support sustainability, ethical practices, quality, longevity and where possible British manufacturing.
